Pricing Analysis & Important Details

01. The Acropolis: no combined ticket today

The Acropolis is sold as a standalone €30 reserved timed-entry ticket by Hellenic Heritage, the official Ministry of Culture platform. As of this page's verification date, no multi-site combined Athens ticket is listed on the official platform. Independent sources report a previous combined ticket (covering the Acropolis and 6 other sites) was phased out in 2025 as part of a national pricing reform, but Local Experiences has not located a primary government announcement confirming that exact date.

02. Acropolis Museum is a separate ticket

The Acropolis Museum (€20, reduced €10) is an independent institution with its own booking system, not affiliated with the Acropolis archaeological site. A ticket to one does not grant entry to the other. Visiting both, without a pass, costs €50 in individual tickets.

03. "Go City Athens Pass" does not currently exist

Go City's official destinations page lists 28 markets worldwide and does not include Athens; the previously-linked gocity.com/en/athens/ URL returns a 404. It has been removed from this comparison.

04. Reservation is not the same as priority entry

Every pass reviewed here pre-books the same official reserved timed-entry ticket sold directly on hh.gr - none provide a separate security-bypass lane. All visitors, pass or not, pass through the same mandatory security screening at the gate.

Which Option Fits Your Visit?

🏺

Best for Acropolis + Archaeological Sites

Turbopass Athens Flex Pass. Since the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Library and Aristotle's Lyceum are all individually selectable, you only pay for the sites you actually plan to enter.

🚌

Best for Acropolis + Museum + Hop-on Hop-off Sightseeing

The Turbopass Athens City Pass or Tiqets' 'The Athens Pass' both bundle the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum and a Hop-on Hop-off bus. Compare their current prices directly before buying, since both change over time.

🚶

Best for Visiting Only the Acropolis

Individual ticket. At €30 direct from Hellenic Heritage, no pass in this comparison beats a single-site visit - every pass costs more than the Acropolis ticket alone.

🏛️

Best for a Museum-Focused Visit

Acropolis Museum + National Archaeological Museum as individual tickets (€20 each, €40 total) unless you are already buying a pass for other reasons - neither museum is included on every pass reviewed here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Athens city pass include the Acropolis?
The Turbopass Athens City Pass and Tiqets' 'The Athens Pass' both include the Acropolis. The Turbopass Athens Flex Pass includes it only if you select it as one of your 2-7 chosen attractions. All three simply pre-book the same official reserved timed-entry ticket; they do not provide separate priority access.
Does the Athens city pass include the Acropolis Museum?
The Turbopass Athens City Pass and Tiqets' 'The Athens Pass' both include it. On the Turbopass Athens Flex Pass, it is one of the attractions you can choose. The Acropolis Museum is a separate institution from the Acropolis archaeological site, with its own ticket either way.
Is there still a combined ticket for Athens' archaeological sites?
Not on the official Hellenic Heritage platform as verified for this page: each site (Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian's Library, Aristotle's Lyceum, Kerameikos) is sold as its own independent ticket today. Whether a specific historical combined ticket was formally discontinued on an exact date could not be confirmed from a primary government source.
What is the cheapest way to visit only the Acropolis?
Buy the official €30 ticket directly from Hellenic Heritage (hh.gr). Every pass compared on this page costs more than a single Acropolis admission, so a pass only makes sense if you plan to visit multiple paid attractions.
Are Athens passes 100% digital?
Yes. The Turbopass City Pass, Turbopass Flex Pass, and Tiqets' 'The Athens Pass' are all delivered by email as mobile tickets.
