1, 2 & 3 Day Athens Itineraries
A realistic route built around confirmed opening hours, reserved entry times, and short walking distances between sites.
Day 1: The Acropolis & Acropolis Museum
Acropolis of Athens (reserved entry slot)
Book the earliest available entry window, ideally the first hour after opening: it is a reserved timed-entry ticket, so you must hold a slot before arriving. Early entry means cooler temperatures and smaller crowds around the Parthenon and Propylaea.
Acropolis Museum
A short downhill walk from the Acropolis south exit. This is a separate institution with its own €20 ticket; no reservation is required for individual visitors, so timing is flexible.
Plaka neighbourhood
Athens' oldest neighbourhood, at the base of the Acropolis, with pedestrian lanes suited to a late lunch or an early dinner after two ticketed visits.
💡 Practical Tips & Recommendations
- • Book the Acropolis ticket online in advance, particularly in peak season, since same-day availability is not guaranteed.
- • The Acropolis ticket and the Acropolis Museum ticket are sold separately and do not include each other.
- • Last admission to the Acropolis is 20 minutes before the posted closing time, and this changes by month - check the current seasonal hours before you go.
