Sainte-Chapelle is a 13th-century royal chapel on the Île de la Cité, renowned for its upper chapel's 15 stained-glass windows depicting over a thousand biblical scenes.
It sits within the same complex as the Conciergerie, a former royal palace and prison, and both are managed by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux.

Built by Louis IX (Saint Louis) and consecrated in 1248 to house relics of the Passion, it is one of the few surviving structures from the original medieval royal palace on the site.
