Overview & Visitor Introduction
La Pedrera, officially Casa Milà, is Gaudí's last major private residential work, known for its rippling stone façade and forest of surreal rooftop chimneys. It's a genuinely separate attraction from Casa Batlló, a short walk away on the same street.
There are three distinct products, not tiers of one ticket: the daytime "La Pedrera Essential" visit (mornings into mid-afternoon), a currently-active seasonal "La Pedrera Sunset" visit occupying the late-afternoon/early-evening slot, and a separate, more expensive "Night Experience" with a guided tour, a rooftop audiovisual show, and a glass of cava. Essential and Sunset cover the same areas with a self-guided videoguide; don't assume a pass covering one covers the Night Experience too.
History & Architectural Significance
Built between 1906 and 1912 for the Milà family, its undulating grey stone façade earned it the nickname "La Pedrera" (the stone quarry) from Barcelona locals, initially as a mockery that stuck as an affectionate name.
Its attic (Espai Gaudí) and rooftop, with chimneys often compared to medieval warriors, became UNESCO World Heritage listed alongside Gaudí's other Barcelona works in 1984.
What to See: Top Highlights
The Rooftop Chimneys
Sculptural chimneys and ventilation towers, included on Essential, Sunset, and the Night Experience alike.
Espai Gaudí (the Attic)
The whale-rib-like brick arches of the attic, included on the daytime and Sunset visits.
Night Experience Show
An evening-only rooftop audiovisual show with a glass of cava — not part of the Essential or Sunset ticket.

City Pass & Ticket Strategy
Compare Barcelona PassesCompare the daytime visit against the separate Night Experience, and check which one (if either) your pass actually provides — the two are genuinely different products, not levels of the same ticket.
Barcelona City Pass
Included. You must reserve your entry time directly with the official provider.
Barcelona Flex Pass
Optional (selectable attraction). Counts as one of your chosen attractions.
Barcelona Card
Discounted. €7 off the La Pedrera Essential (adult) ticket. Entry from 14:00. Turisme de Barcelona's own Barcelona Card page lists this as a €7 discount specifically off the La Pedrera Essential adult ticket, valid for entry from 14:00 onward — not free entry, and not applicable to the Sunset or Night Experience products.
All-In Barcelona Card
Discounted. €7 off the La Pedrera Essential (adult) ticket. Entry from 14:00. Inherited from the base Barcelona Card's €7 discount on the La Pedrera Essential adult ticket (entry from 14:00) — not free. See that relationship's notes.
Go City Barcelona All-Inclusive Pass
Included. Listed simply as "La Pedrera" on Go City's attraction index (medium confidence — from an index-page summary, not an individually re-fetched attraction page); Go City's index states "Reservation: Not required." Which specific La Pedrera product (Essential/Sunset/Night Experience) this corresponds to was not confirmed — do not assume it's the daytime Essential visit without checking directly.
Barcelona Card Modernista
Included. Free (once-per-venue) admission per Turisme de Barcelona's own Barcelona Card Modernista page — unlike the standard Barcelona Card, which only discounts this attraction. Specific product (Essential/Sunset/Night Experience) not stated — treat as Essential (the standard daytime visit) unless confirmed otherwise.
