Ca' Pesaro Guide: Tickets, Hours & Pass Compatibility

Ca' Pesaro is a Baroque marble palazzo on the Grand Canal now housing the International Gallery of Modern Art, with 19th- and 20th-century paintings and sculpture, plus an Oriental Art museum on an upper floor.

Standard admission is EUR 15 adult / EUR 7.50 reduced, with no reservation required. Hours run 10:00-18:00 (last admission 17:00) from 1 April to 31 October, and 10:00-17:00 (last admission 16:00) from 1 November to 31 March. The museum is closed every Monday year-round — note this is a different closing day from Ca' Rezzonico's Tuesday closure, so check before combining both in one day.

Ca' Pesaro is part of the Musei Civici di Venezia (MUVE) network, included in the MUVE Museum Pass (EUR 50 adult / EUR 25 reduced, 12 venues) and in the thematic 'I Musei del Moderno e Contemporaneo' combined ticket alongside Museo Fortuny and MUVEC (EUR 20 adult / EUR 10 reduced).

On city passes: it's NOT included on the Venezia Unica San Marco City Pass tier (scoped only to the St Mark's Square museums plus Scuola Grande dei Carmini and Querini Stampalia). It IS included on the Venezia Unica All-Venice City Pass tier. Its Turbopass status is unknown, since Turbopass advertises '20+ attractions' without an itemized list.

Commissioned by the Pesaro family, Ca' Pesaro was designed by Baldassarre Longhena — the same architect behind Ca' Rezzonico and the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute — in the mid-17th century, with construction completed after his death by Gian Antonio Gaspari in 1710. Its heavily rusticated ground floor and dramatic grotesque-mask keystones are considered a high point of Venetian Baroque architecture.

The palazzo became a public gallery of modern art in the early 20th century, building a collection through acquisitions from the Venice Biennale exhibitions held nearby, and today holds works by artists including Gustav Klimt, Marc Chagall, and Auguste Rodin alongside major Italian modernists.
