History & Significance
Built between 1496 and 1499 by architect Mauro Codussi, the Clock Tower's astronomical dial shows the time, the zodiac sign, and the phase of the moon.
Its rooftop terrace features two bronze figures known as the "Mori" (Moors) who strike the tower's bell on the hour — one of Venice's most recognizable civic landmarks.
