Upper Barrakka Gardens is a public terraced garden built in 1661 atop Valletta's St Peter & Paul Bastion, and one of the best free viewpoints in Malta. From its arched loggia, visitors look straight down onto the Saluting Battery and out across the full width of the Grand Harbour toward the Three Cities and Fort St Angelo — a view made famous by the daily ceremonial cannon firings below.
