The Walls of Dubrovnik (Gradske zidine) form an almost unbroken 1,940 m limestone circuit around the entire Old Town, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic city. Managed by the Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities, the walk climbs Minčeta Tower, St John's Fortress, and Bokar Fortress, with continuous views over the terracotta rooftops of the Old Town and the Adriatic. A single City Walls ticket also grants entry to Fort Lovrijenac, just outside the western walls.
What to See: Top Highlights
Minčeta Tower
The circuit's highest point, a round 15th-century tower giving the best panoramic view over the entire Old Town — a filming location for HBO's Game of Thrones, though the walk itself is a heritage site visit, not a themed tour.
Sea-facing ramparts above Buža
The southern stretch runs directly above the open Adriatic and the informal Buža bar terraces built into the cliffs below.
Fort Lovrijenac access
Your City Walls ticket also covers entry to Fort Lovrijenac, the freestanding fortress just outside Pile Gate, without an extra charge.
