See pass compatibility below ↓Overview & History
Rundetaarn is Europe's oldest functioning observatory, famous for its 209-meter spiral ramp — wide enough that legend says Tsar Peter the Great once rode a horse to the top. Unlike Tivoli Gardens and Rosenborg Castle, Rundetaarn does not appear on the Copenhagen Card's own official attractions list, and its own visitor page makes no mention of the card at all.
What to See: Top Highlights
The Spiral Ramp
A 209-meter cobblestone ramp winding to the top, with no stairs — the tower's defining architectural feature.
The Historical Observatory
Europe's oldest observatory still in use, currently closed for a 2026 telescope restoration.
The Library Hall
The former university library halfway up the ramp, now a rotating exhibition space.

Does the Copenhagen Card Include This?
Compare Copenhagen PassesNo — confirmed absent from the Copenhagen Card's own official attractions list, and Rundetaarn's own visitor-information page makes no mention of the card at all. This is a stronger statement than "discounted": there is no confirmed card benefit here of any kind.
COPENHAGEN CARD - DISCOVER
Not included. Rundetaarn does NOT appear on copenhagencard.com's own official attractions list, and Rundetaarn's own official visitor page (rundetaarn.dk) makes no mention of the Copenhagen Card at all — confirmed absent, not simply undocumented.
