Barcelona Cathedral, formally the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, is the seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona, built mainly between the 13th and 15th centuries with a neo-Gothic facade added in the late 19th century.
A single individual tourist-visit ticket (€16.00 standard / €14.00 reduced) covers the choir, chapter house and cloister, and rooftop access by lift. History & Architectural Significance
Construction of the current Gothic cathedral began in 1298 on the site of an earlier Romanesque church, with principal work completed through the 14th and 15th centuries; the main facade was finally added in the late 19th century in a Gothic Revival style matching the original plans.
The cathedral's cloister, home to 13 white geese (traditionally said to represent Saint Eulalia's age at martyrdom), is one of its most distinctive features.
