A 13th-century defensive tower (construction began around 1266) guarding the former southern gate of Gradec's town wall, in Zagreb's Upper Town. Its Grič Cannon has fired a single shot at noon every day since 1877 (a tradition paused twice in its history — after WWI, and after the December 2020 earthquake, resuming in February 2022, and confirmed still active as of this verification). Climbing the tower gives a panoramic viewing platform over Zagreb's rooftops.
