建設は1879年、はるかに古い教会の跡地で始まりましたが、資金難や設計変更のため数十年にわたり何度も中断しました。ネオゴシック様式の外観とネオロマネスク様式の地下聖堂は、同じ長い工事の中での異なる設計時代を反映しています。
