A Great Moravian-era castle ruin (9th-century stronghold, settled since prehistoric times) at the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers, within Bratislava's own Devín borough — about 10km / a roughly 20-25 minute city bus ride (route 29 from under the Most SNP bridge) from the historic centre, reached on the standard public-transport network rather than a separate inter-city trip. The permanent exhibition at the Upper Castle runs April-October only; the grounds are open year-round on the hours above.
