Zagreb's principal cemetery and one of Europe's most architecturally significant, designed by Austrian-Croatian architect Hermann Bollé from 1879 and built in stages until the 1920s: a long neo-Renaissance arcade of domed pavilions enclosing a park-like cemetery open to all faiths. Notable burials include Croatia's first president Franjo Tuđman, writer Marija Jurić Zagorka, and Nobel laureate chemist Vladimir Prelog, alongside Bollé himself.
